Hello!

My name is Dr. Lisa Zabonick, and I am a native of Michigan and currently an Exceptional Child Educator in Louisville, Kentucky. I have been in education since 2002 and have dedicated my life to serving students with disabilities. I hold many degrees, but the one I am most proud of is my doctorate in Educational Leadership with a focus on people with disabilities. I have taught in all areas of special education, and have taught students with many different types of disabilities. Teaching students with disabilities is truly my passion. I also had the great pleasure of teaching as an Adjunct Professor at Northern Kentucky University in the Organizational Leadership Program. As you can see, I am a life-long learner, and I am always up to a new challenge.

For many years now, I have wanted to start up a blog, but as we all know sometimes life becomes crazy-busy. Although writing was in the back of my mind each and everyday, I had to prioritize and focus on family. Now that my children Rachel, Sarah, and Jake are all grown up and on their own, the time has come for me to write.

I am letting you know ahead of time that some of the stories I will share personally and topics that I will write about will not always be warm and fuzzy. How could my stories always be positive? We all know that day in and day out life can be a roller coaster. However, I hope this blog will bring comfort to you. There is no need to navigate the world alone when we can share the good times and the bad with one another AND come up with some solutions! Some fun facts to know about me are that I am crazy about my children, perfume, coffee, gardening, dogs, nature hikes, helping others and music.

Thank you — Lisa!
